An inukshuk (inuksuk) is a man-made stone land marker used by the Inuit of the North for directional purposes. Much like an Inukshuk, ICS is designed to guide people on their journey of healing using alternative healing modalities.
Shane Mugford is the founder of Ibogaine Counselling Service and is a well-known ibogaine practitioner here in Canada. He is of Inuit descent and has struggled with severe addictions and mental health issues for 19 years of his life. Shane's addictions and mental health issues were the results of a traumatic snowmobile accident that took place when he was just 14 years of age. He used ibogaine to combat his own illnesses and now lives a life free of addiction and mental health issues.
Shane has provided countless ibogaine sessions to those who suffer from mild to severe addictions, mental health issues, and for both life and spiritual growth. He is also a Kambo Practitioner, an experienced interventionist, and a life coach whose sole purpose is to help as many people as possible who suffer like he once suffered.
Shane first started providing ibogaine therapy in St. John's, Newfoundland. In 2014 Shane was featured in several newspapers, CBC National News, CBC radio, and also invited on other radio talk shows across Canada. Originally ICS was started as a counselling practice called Inukshuk Counselling Service, but moved into the direction of using tribal medicines and other alternative healing modalities.
